Taxon description
Gatunek szeroko rozpowszechniony prawie w całej Europie, w Fennoskandii sięgający daleko poza koło podbiegunowe, a na wschód do zachodniej Syberii. W Polsce szeroko rozmieszczony. Zamieszkuje głównie obszary nizinne i podgórskie, a wzdłuż dolin rzecznych dociera do strefy subalpejskiej. Żyje pod odstającą, zmurszałą korą pieńków oraz powalonych na ziemię drzew liściastych i iglastych; znajdowany również w spróchniałym drewnie, ściółce i pod opadłym listowiem, fragmentami drewna i kamieniami.
