Taxon description
Gatunek rozsiedlony w południowej części Palearktyki, występujący w Europie od krajów śródziemnomorskich do Wysp Brytyjskich i środkowych prowincji Szwecji. W Polsce chrząszcz bardzo rzadko spotykany, wykazany tylko z czterech krain w zachodniej części kraju. Larwy żyją w martwym drewnie i w korze drzew liściastych, najczęściej starych dębów. Postacie dojrzałe poławiano od czerwca do sierpnia.
