Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1983:
Gatunek rozsiedlony głównie w środkowej i południowej części Europy oraz w Azji Mniejszej, notowany również z Danii, południowych części Anglii i Szwecji, na zachód docierający do terenów pagórkowatych i górzystych Francji. W Polsce znany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk w różnych częściach kraju. Wszędzie w ubiegłym wieku częściej spotykany, obecnie występuje lokalnie i jest rzadko i sporadycznie znajdowany. Cykl rozwojowy trwa prawie dwa lata. Larwa żeruje w wilgotnym murszejącym drewnie pni i pniaków, głównie drzew liściastych. Postacie dorosłe poławiano od czerwca do sierpnia.
