Gatunek szeroko rozprzestrzeniony w Europie i Syberii, na wschód sięgający do Władywostoku, ponadto zawleczony do Kolumbii Brytyjskiej. W Polsce znany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk. Występuje zarówno na obszarach nizinnych, jak i górzystych jako polifag w grzybach naziemnych kilkudziesięciu gatunków.
