Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1976:
Gatunek rozmieszczony w zachodniej, środkowej i południowej Europie oraz północnej Afryce, poza tym notowany z kilku prowincji południowych w Szwecji, z Wysp Kanaryjskich, Azji Mniejszej i Kaukazu. W Polsce dość pospolity, choć rzadko wykazywany. Zamieszkuje różnego typu zbiorniki wodne, drobne i większe, zarośnięte przez glony nitkowate, związany szczególnie z wodami bieżącymi, nie unika wód kwaśnych i zasolonych.
