Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1981:
Gatunek znany głównie ze środkowej i północnej Europy, w Fennoskandii sięgający do koła podbiegunowego, a w kierunku południowym do północnych Włoch, Bośni i Siedmiogrodu. Notowany poza tym z Kaukazu i Syberii. W Polsce prawdopodobnie występuje na całym obszarze oprócz wysokich gór, aczkolwiek nie znany jest jeszcze z wielu krain. Chrząszcz wilgociolubny, występujący na torfowiskach i błotnistych pobrzeżach wód porośniętych trzciną i sitowiem. Pojawia się w sierpniu i żyje do maja; w zimie znajdowany często pod skoszonymi trzcinami.
