Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1995:
Gatunek rozsiedlony w zachodniej i południowej części Europy oraz w południowo-wschodniej części Europy Środkowej i na Półwyspie Bałkańskim. W Polsce wykazany z nielicznych stanowisk, głównie w zachodniej i południowej części kraju, ale dawne wzmianki, sprzed przeszło stu lat o występowaniu tego ryjkowca na Mazowszu i w Sudetach Zachodnich winny być potwierdzone nowymi znaleziskami. Występuje na polach, pastwiskach, miedzach i nasłonecznionych zboczach. Żyje na groszku bulwiastym — Lathyrus tuberosus L. Postacie dojrzałe żerują na kwiatach. Larwy przepoczwarczają się w żółtobiałym, siateczkowatym kokonie.
