Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1995:

Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w niemal całej Europie, docierający w Szwecji do koła podbiegunowego, a na wschód przez Syberię do Kazachstanu i Mongolii, północno-wschodnich Chin i Dalekiego Wschodu; wykazywany poza tym z Kaukazu. Pospolity ryjkowiec w całej Polsce, nie znany jeszcze tylko ze Wzgórz Trzebnickich. Zasiedla pola, łąki, pastwiska, pobrzeża wód, zarośla, rowy, przydroża i środowiska ruderalne. Jako rośliny żywicielskie w piśmiennictwie były podawane: wyka ptasia — Vicia cracca L., komonica błotna — Lotus uliginosus Schk., nostrzyk biały — Melilotus albus Med., lucerna nerkowata — Medicago lupulina L., koniczyna biała — Trifolium repens L., koniczyna łąkowa — T. pratense L. i groszek żółty — Lathyrus pratensis L.
