Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 2000:

Gatunek opisany przed przeszło 150 laty z Triestu i okolic Berlina; przez długi czas uważany za odmianę Hyperaspis (Hyperaspis) campestris (Herbst), od niedawna uważany za gatunek samodzielny. Notowany z południowej i środkowej części Europy, wykazany dotychczas z Niemiec, Polski, Czech, Moraw, Słowacji, Austrii, Węgier, Francji, Hiszpanii, Włoch, Jugosławii i Grecji. W Polsce notowany z ośmiu krain, ale prawdopodobnie występuje w całym kraju prócz wyższych partii górskich. Zasiedla suche łąki i pastwiska, zbocza trawiaste, wrzosowiska, nasłonecznione pobrzeża lasu. Poławiany na trawach, roślinach zielnych i drzewach liściastych.
