Gatunek występujący na obszarach, gdzie jest uprawiana kawa. Kornika tego nie zalicza się do fauny krajowej. Jedyna wzmianka w krajowym piśmiennictwie, odnosi się do jego zawleczenia do Gdyni i Szczecina z Angoli, Nowej Gwinei, Brazylii, Ugandy i Wybrzeża Kości Słoniowej.
