Taxon description
Gatunek zamieszkujący zachodnią, południową i środkową część Europy, notowany ponadto z Algierii, Kaukazu i Krymu. W Polsce kornik bardzo rzadko spotykany, notowany tylko z trzech krain. Gatunek monograficzny, występujący na bluszczu pospolitym — Hedera helix L. Żerowisko jedno — lub dwuramienne, poprzeczne, zakładane zarówno na głównym pędzie, jak i na gałązkach, długości do 2 cm, wyraźnie w korze, rzadziej w bielu.
