Taxon description
Gatunek rozmieszczony od południowo-wschodniej części Europy Środkowej po Kaukaz i Anatalię. W Polsce wykazany tylko z jednego stanowiska. Bionomia nie jest dokładnie poznana. Według S. Smreczyńskiego (1974) rośliną żywicielską tego drążyna jest czyściec prosty — Stachys recta L., roślina rosnąca na suchych wzgórzach i skałach wapiennych. K. Koch (1992) podaje natomiast, że omawiany ryjkowiec występuje na gatunkach należących do rodzaju żeleźniak — Phlomis L., ale w Polsce nie znaleziono dotychczas ani jednego gatunku z tego rodzaju.
