Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1976:
Gatunek występuje od środkowych prowincji Szwecji i Finlandii do środkowej Europy, w miarę posuwania się na południe coraz rzadziej spotykany. W Polsce rzadko notowany z nielicznych stanowisk tylko w zachodniej części kraju. Według A. Horiona (1949) omyłkowo wykazany z Węgorzewa na Pojezierzu Mazurskim przez G. Vorbringera (1907) na podstawie błędnego oznaczenia gatunku Laccobius minutus (L.). Znajdowany zarówno w wodach stojących jak i wolno płynących, zwłaszcza po piaszczystym podłożu.
