Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1985:

Gatunek o niedokładnie zbadanym rozsiedleniu oraz bionomii z powodu utrzymujących się długi czas niejasności systematycznych. Notowany poza Polską z Francji, Szwajcarii, Włoch, Austrii, NRD, RFN, Węgier, Czechosłowacji, południowej części Rosji. W Polsce chrząszcz bardzo rzadki, notowany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk. Dane Sz. Tenenbauma z Zamojszczyzny są wątpliwe — uwaga „martwy pod korą lipy" może się odnosić raczej do O. rutilans (Fabr.). Larwa rozwija się w wierzbach i brzozach, ponadto jest notowana z wiązu, ale ten ostatni gatunek jest drzewem żywicielskim pokrewnego gatunku pontyjsko-śródziemnomorskiego, nie wykazywanego u nas, ale znanego z Czechosłowacji. Postacie dojrzałe poławiano od czerwca do sierpnia na liściach wymienionych wyżej drzew.
