Taxon description
Gatunek obejmujący zasięgiem głównie obszary górzyste i podgórskie w środkowej części Europy, od Pirenejów i północnych Włoch po Siedmiogród. Rozpucz ten zamieszkuje w Polsce głównie obszary wyżynne i górskie oraz wyspowe stanowiska niżowe na Pojezierzach. Zasiedla wilgotne lasy i zarośla, wąwozy, źródliska, pobrzeża rzek i potoków. Larwa odbywa rozwój na korzeniach: lepiężnika różowego — Petasites officinalis Moench i lepiężnika białego — P. albus (L.) Gaertn. oraz barszczów — Heracleum L.
