Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony od Wysp Brytyjskich, Danii, południowych prowincji Fennoskandii i Karelii po kraje śródziemnomorskie, na wschód sięgający po Azję Mniejszą, kraje kaukaskie i Azję Środkową. W Polsce, aczkolwiek nie jest jeszcze znany z wielu krain, występuje na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich. Żeruje na dziewannach — Verbascum L., zwłaszcza na dziewannie pospolitej — V. nigrum L.
