Taxon description
Gatunek borealno-górski, zamieszkujący głównie Fennoskandię, gdzie dociera do skrajnych prowincji północnych. Wykazywany ponadto z Syberii i nielicznych stanowisk górzystych w środkowej części Europy. W Polsce chrząszcz nadzwyczaj rzadko spotykany, notowany z kilku stanowisk tylko w dwu krainach na podstawie znalezisk sprzed 70, a nawet 100 lat; ostatnio znaleziony w Bieszczadach. Zasiedla głównie tereny górzyste, zwłaszcza strefę subalpejską.
