Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1995:
Gatunek szeroko rozsiedlony od Wysp Brytyjskich, północnej i środkowej części Europy aż po Syberię Wschodnią, docierający w Skandynawii do skrajnych obszarów północnych. Pospolity w Polsce na niżu i wyżynach, rzadko i sporadycznie spotykany w górach. Występuje na sośnie zwyczajnej — Pinus silvestris L., świerku pospolitym — Picea excelsa (Lam.) Lk. i modrzewiu europejskim — Larix decidua Mill. Larwy drążą chodniki i żerują w cienkich gałązkach, głównie drzew obumierających.
