Taxon description
Gatunek szeroko rozmieszczony w południowej części Palearktyki, nie występujący w Europie Północnej. W Polsce należy do rzadko spotykanych chrząszczy, znany z nielicznych stanowisk tylko w czterech krainach południowych. Występuje na przydrożach i w obejściach domowych. Żyje na ślazie dzikim — Malva silvestris L., ślazie zaniedbanym — M. neglecta Wallr., ślazie zygmarku — M. alcea L. i ślazie drobnokwiatowym — M. pusilla Sm. et Sow., poza tym postacie dojrzałe obserwowano na prawoślazie lekarskim — Althaea officinalis (L.). Larwa żeruje w owocach, w jednym nasieniu występuje tylko jedna larwa.
