Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1978:
Gatunek palearktyczny szeroko rozprzestrzeniony, w Europie na północ sięgający do środkowej części Fennoskandii. W Polsce pospolity na całym obszarze, w zbiorach krajowych znajdują się okazy prawie ze wszystkich krain, ale z nielicznych stanowisk. Spotykany pod padliną różnych zwierząt, silnie gnijącymi szczątkami roślinnymi, nawozem, w grzybach i na wyciekającym soku z drzew liściastych.
