Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1979:
Gatunek występujący głównie w środkowej Europie, na zachód sięgający do Francji, a na południe do północnych Włoch, notowany poza tym z południowych części Anglii i Szwecji. W Polsce rzadko spotykany, znany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk. Występuje przeważnie na glebach wilgotnych w pobliżu wód. Żyje w gniazdach myszy i kretów. Z powodu podziemnego sposobu życia wyróżnia się wybitnie wśród innych gatunków omawianego rodzaju zredukowanymi oczami, słabą pigmentacją oraz wydłużonymi czułkami i stopami.
