Taxon description
Gatunek borealno-górski; opisany z Francji przed przeszło stu laty, mało znany w Europie, gdyż przypuszczalnie przeoczany z powodu jego dużego podobieństwa do pospolitego Meligethes subrugosus (Gyll.). Dotychczas notowano go z Norwegii, Danii, Szwajcarii, Włoch i Rumunii. W Polsce wykazany z dwu stanowisk na podstawie sześciu okazów złowionych w czerwcu na kwiatach dzwonka rozpierzchłego — Campanula patula L. Zasiedla obszary górzyste od pogórza po piętro alpejskie, do około 2000 m n.p.m.; występuje w widnych lasach, na łąkach i zrębach leśnych, poławiany głównie na kwiatach dzwonkowatych — Campanulaceae, posłonkowatych— Cistaceae i astrów —Aster L.
