Taxon description
Gatunek rozmieszczony od południowych części Anglii i Fennoskandii przez całą Europę środkową aż do Francji, Włoch północnych, Krainy, Bośni, Siedmiogrodu i Podola. Wszędzie rzadko spotykany, lecz niekiedy lokalnie poławiany dość licznie. W Polsce znany z nielicznych stanowisk w ośmiu tylko krainach. Larwy żerują w zmurszałym drewnie pni i gałęzi oraz pod przegrzybiałą korą drzew liściastych, zwłaszcza dębu, buka, brzozy, klonu i topoli. Pojaw postaci dojrzałych rozpoczyna się w czerwcu i trwa do sierpnia.
