Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1986b:
Gatunek występujący na Syberii, docierający na wschód do Kraju Nadmorskiego, a na zachód przez wschodnią część Europy sięgający izolowanymi stanowiskami po wschodnią Francję, Sławonię i Dalmację. W Polsce należy do wielkich rzadkości — wykazano go tylko z okolic Przemyśla na podstawie znalezisk sprzed przeszło 60 lat. Wymagania środowiskowe nie są znane, ale należy przypuszczać, że jak inne gatunki omawianego rodzaju, również M. (M.) ater związany jest z grzybami porastającymi martwe drewno.
