Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1976:

Gatunek borealno-górski, zamieszkujący północną, środkową i wschodnią Europę oraz zachodnią Syberię. W Polsce bardzo rzadko znajdowany. Dane o występowaniu na Nizinie Mazowieckiej wydają się niezbyt pewne, a wzmianki sprzed przeszło stu laty odnoszące się do Sudetów wymagają potwierdzenia nowymi znaleziskami. Żyje w jeziorach i stawkach, a w górach również w kałużach utworzonych lub zasilanych przez strumyki.
