Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony od krajów śródziemnomorskich, przez całą środkową część Europy aż do Wysp Brytyjskich, środkowej Szwecji, południowej Finlandii i Karelskiej ASRR. W Polsce spotykany sporadycznie i dość rzadko, zarówno na niżu, jak i w górach. Chrząszcz wilgociolubny, występujący na pobrzeżach wód płynących i stojących, na moczarach leśnych, przy źródłach i wysiękach wód. Łowiony pod napływkami, opadłym listowiem i wśród mchów.
