Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1987:
Gatunek palearktyczny, zamieszkujący niemal całą Europę, w Fennoskandii sięgający daleko poza koło podbiegunowe. W Polsce znany z nielicznych, przeważnie pojedynczych stanowisk w zachodniej i południowej części kraju. Zasiedla tereny nizinne i niższe położenia górskie. Rozwój odbywa w hubach rosnących na drzewach liściastych, zwłaszcza dębach, bukach i brzozach. Najczęściej wykazywany z wrośniaka garbatego — Trametes gibbosa (Pers. ex Pers.) Fr.; poza tym notowano go również z kilkunastu gatunków hub należących do rodzajów: gmatwek — Daedalea (Pers.) ex Fr., blaszkowiec — Lenzites Fr. i żagiew — Polyporus (Mich.) ex Fr. em. Donk.
