Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1986a:
Gatunek palearktyczny, w Europie rozsiedlony od krajów śródziemnomorskich aż do południowych części Anglii, Fennoskandii i Karelii. W Polsce znany z nielicznych, rozproszonych stanowisk w różnych, częściach kraju. Zasiedla tereny nizinne i niższe położenia górskie. Rośliną żywicielska jest krwawnik pospolity — Achillea millefolium L. Larwy odbywają rozwój w lipcu w koszyczkach kwiatowych. Przepoczwarczenie następuje w glebie. Postacie dojrzałe ukazują się w sierpniu.
