Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1990b:

[KFP 4405: Oreina bifrons] Gatunek rozmieszczony na terenach górzystych w środkowej części Europy, gdzie tworzy osiem podgatunków, z których podgatunek nominotypowy występuje w zachodnich Alpach.

[KFP 4405a: Oreina bifrons obenbergeri] Podgatunek ten znany dotychczas tylko ze słowackich Tatr, został niedawno odkryty na kilku stanowiskach również po stronie polskiej.

[KFP 4405a: Oreina bifrons decora] Podgatunek Oreina (Oreina) bifrons decora (Richt.) żyje w Sudetach; notowany też z Harcu. W Polsce chrząszcz mało znany, bardzo rzadko notowany, głównie na podstawie znaleziska w ubiegłym stuleciu. Na północnych zboczach Śnieżnika występuje masowo (A. Warchałowski*). Występuje w ziołoroślach i nad źródliskami w piętrze regla górnego, kosówki i hal. Poławiany najczęściej pod kamieniami oraz na trybuli leśnej — Anthriscus silvestris (L.) Hoffm. i świerząbku korzennym — Chaerophyllum aromaticum L.
