Taxon description
Gatunek rozsiedlony w prawie całej Europie z wyjątkiem północnej części Fennoskandii, podawany też z Kaukazu. W Polsce, aczkolwiek nie znany jeszcze ze wszystkich krain, występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze oprócz wyższych partii górskich. Znajdowany najczęściej w gniazdach mrówek Lasius fuliginosus (Latr.) zasiedlających stare pnie wierzb i topól, notowany również z gniazd mrówek z rodzaju Formica L. i Myrmica Latr.; niekiedy spotykany w dalszej odległości od mrowisk, w ściółce, pod kamieniami i wśród mchów.
