Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1990b:
Gatunek zasiedlający niemal całą Europę z wyjątkiem północnych części Fennoskandii, znany też z Afryki Północnej i Azji Mniejszej. W Polsce chrząszcz pospolity, występujący na obszarze całego kraju, z kilku krain jeszcze nie notowany. Zamieszkuje podmokle łąki, zarośla i pobrzeża rowów oraz inne wilgotne miejsca. Poławiany od wczesnej wiosny do jesieni. Jako rośliny żywicielskie podawano różne gatunki z rodziny krzyżowych — Cruciferae, jak rukiew wodna — Nasturtium officinale R. Br., rzepicha ziemno-wodna — Rorippa amphibia (L.) Bess. i chrzan pospolity — Armoracia lapathifolia Gilib., na którym występuje niekiedy masowo w ogrodach warzywnych, wyrządzając szkody. Notowany poza tym jako szkodnik innych roślin uprawnych z rodziny krzyżowych.
