Taxon description
Gatunek o niedostatecznie poznanym rozmieszczeniu, gdyż przez wielu badaczy uważany był za odmianę Phloeonomus pusillus (Grav.). Wykazywany głównie z północnej Europy oraz z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk w środkowej i południowej Europie. Spotykany najczęściej pojedynczo na soku pod obluźnioną korą drzew liściastych, zwłaszcza dębów i buków, niekiedy również w grzybach nadrzewnych.
