Taxon description
Gatunek zamieszkujący głównie Europę Południową, ponadto obszary ciepłe w środkowej części kontynentu, notowany też z Danii i Kaukazu. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko spotykany, notowany głównie z południowej części kraju. Występuje na suchych, ciepłych miejscach w lasach liściastych i mieszanych w suchych dolinach rzek i potoków, naświetlonych pobrzeżach lasu i zarośli, nasłonecznionych zboczach i wrzosowiskach. Postacie dojrzałe pojawiają się w maju i poławiane są do lipca. Żerują na krzewach i drzewach z rodziny różowatych — Rosaceae, z których bywają wymieniane śliwa tarnina — Prunus spinosa L., czereśnia — Cerasus avium (L.) Moench., głóg jednoszyjkowy — Crataegus monogyna Jacq., głóg dwuszyjkowy — C. oxyacantha L. oraz róże — Rosa L.
