Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w Europie, północno-zachodniej Afryce i Azji Mniejszej po Morze Kaspijskie. W Polsce występuje na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich, jednak nie jest jeszcze znany z niektórych krain. Żeruje na różnych gatunkach roślin z rodziny krzyżowych — Cruciferae, poza tym na rezedzie żółtej — Reseda lutea L., rezedzie pachnącej — R. odorata L. oraz na nasturcji — Tropaeolum majus L. Chrząszcz zaliczany jest do groźnych szkodników upraw roślin krzyżowych. Larwa żeruję na korzeniach.
