Taxon description
Gatunek europejski, występujący głównie na obszarach górzystych, w Skandynawii sięgający daleko poza koło podbiegunowe. W Polsce chrząszcz lokalnie, sporadycznie spotykany na niżu, pospolity w południowej części kraju, zwłaszcza na terenach wyżynnych. Zasiedla lasy liściaste, zwłaszcza ich pobrzeża. Bionomia słabo poznana. Postacie dojrzałe spotykano od kwietnia do lipca. Jako rośliny pokarmowe były wykazane w piśmiennictwie brzoza, olsza, topola, wierzba, buk, jarzębina, głóg i leszczyna.
