Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1992:
Gatunek obejmujący zasięgiem zachodnią i środkową część Europy po Mołdawię i południowo-zachodnią Ukrainę. Czterooczak limbowiec w Polsce był notowany tylko z nielicznych stanowisk w czterech krainach południowych. Głównym żywicielem tego kornika jest limba, ponadto spotykano go sporadycznie na świerku, kosodrzewinie, wejmutce, grabie, czereśni, śliwie i wiśni. Opada strzały i gałęzie. Chodnik macierzysty z wyraźną komorą godową, jedno-, dwu-, trzyramienny, przebiega raczej wzdłuż włókien. Żerowiska chrząszczy i larw wyraźnie wygryzione w drewnie.
