Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1992:

Gatunek o niedostatecznie poznanym rozmieszczeniu ogólnym, gdyż do niedawna na ogół był uważany za odmianę A. (P.) trifolii (L.). Notowany ze środkowej i wschodniej części Europy oraz Kaukazu. W Polsce znany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk w różnych częściach kraju. Zasiedla widne lasy, zarośla, suche łąki głównie na terenach nizinnych, rzadziej w niższych położeniach górskich. Bionomia tego chrząszcza poznana niedostatecznie. W Niemczech larwę znajdowano w główkach kwiatowych koniczyny dwukłosowej — Trifolium alpestre L., gdzie wyżera przeważnie tylko jedno nasienie. Rozwój larwalny przebiega w ciągu 5-6 tygodni. Świeżo wylęgnięte imagines spotykano w lipcu i sierpniu. W Polsce omawiany gatunek był zbierany wyłącznie na koniczynie pagórkowej —- Trifolium montanum L. (Zagaje Grzegorzewickie, Tarnogóra koło Izbicy, okolice Jawora — M. Wanat*).
