Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1983:
Gatunek rozpowszechniony w Europie środkowej, zachodniej i południowej, ponadto notowany z dwu południowych prowincji Szwecji. W Polsce chrząszcz nadzwyczaj rzadko spotykany, nie poławiany od co najmniej 50 lat. Notowany tylko z trzech stanowisk, przy tym o występowaniu w Gdańsku i w byłych Prusach wątpi A. Horion (1959). Zasiedla głównie tereny wapienne na podgórzach i w górach. Żyje w dobrze nasłonecznionej wodzie większych strumieni z bogatą florą mchów, zwłaszcza w strefie występowania brzany i lipienia.
