Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1983:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w południowej, zachodniej i środkowej części Europy. W Polsce wykazywany z kilku stanowisk tylko w czterech krainach południowych, od przeszło 50 lat nigdzie powtórnie nie stwierdzony. Zamieszkuje obszary pagórkowate i górzyste, gdzie żyje w zimnych, zacienionych strumieniach, głównie w ich górnym biegu aż do źródeł. Na ogół występuje lokalnie i nieczęsto jest poławiany.
