Taxon description
Gatunek zamieszkujący południową i środkową część Europy, notowany też z dwu stanowisk w południowej Szwecji. W Polsce wykazywany z nielicznych stanowisk w różnych częściach kraju, spotykany na ogół rzadko i sporadycznie, przeważnie pojedynczo. Zasiedla tereny nizinne i przedgórza, gdzie odbywa rozwój w martwych cienkich pniach i gałęziach drzew liściastych, zwłaszcza dębów — Quercus L., olsz — Alnus Mill., orzecha — Juglans L., kasztana — Castanea Mill., śliw — Prunus L., gruszy — Pirus L. i winorośli — Vitis L. Larwy drążą nieregularne, kręte chodniki pod korą, nadżerając biel. Przed przepoczwarczeniem wdrążają się w drewno i przygotowują łukowatą, wąską komorę poczwarkową oraz owalny otwór wyjściowy. Postacie dojrzałe ukazują się w maju-czerwcu. Wykazują dużą ruchliwość, odbywając loty na kwitnące krzewy, świeżo powalone drzewa liściaste i stosy chrustu.
