Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1979:
Gatunek rozsiedlony w południowej i środkowej Europie, na północ sięgający do południowej Anglii i Fennoskandii. Rozmieszczenie w Polsce niedostatecznie poznane, gdyż często mylony z innymi gatunkami. Omyłkowo wykazany z okolic Przemyśla (Trella 1930b) na podstawie błędnie oznaczonych okazów Scopaeus (Euscopaeus) minutus Erichson (Walles 1936). Występuje na glebach wilgotnych lub suchych, gliniastych lub piaszczystych, skąpo porośniętych niską roślinnością. Znajdowany zwykle na zboczach i skarpach pod kamieniami, gnijącą roślinnością i wśród mchów.
