Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1995:

Gatunek rozsiedlony w Europie od Francji do Turcji przez południowe obszary Europy Środkowej i północne Europy Południowej. W Polsce łowiony na nielicznych stanowiskach w tylko pięciu krainach. Występuje głównie w ciepłych, odkrytych środowiskach. Żyje na goździku kartuzku — Dianthus carthusianorum L. i goździku pysznym — D. superbus L. Postacie dojrzałe łowiono na roślinach w czerwcu i lipcu. Samice składają jaja w pączki kwiatowe. Larwy odżywiają się nasionami. Przepoczwarczenie ma miejsce na dnie kielicha kwiatowego. Nowa generacja ukazuje się pod koniec września.
