Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony od środkowej i wschodniej części Europy po Kaukaz i Syberię. W Polsce, aczkolwiek nie jest jeszcze znany z niektórych krain, występuje prawdopodobnie w całym kraju prócz wyższych partii górskich. Zasiedla pola uprawne, suche łąki, pastwiska, ugory, przydroża, zarośla, kserotermiczne zbocza, stoki wapienne i piaszczyste. Żeruje na wszystkich krajowych lucernach — Medicago L. Postacie dojrzałe pojawiają się w maju i przeżywają do września. Samica składa jaja w lipcu i sierpniu. Larwy żerują w bulwkach korzeniowych i na korzeniach. Zimują w glebie, przepoczwarczają się wiosną.
