Gatunek zamieszkujący południową i środkową część Europy, notowany ponadto z Algierii. W Polsce znany z nielicznych stanowisk rozproszonych w różnych częściach kraju. Zasiedla słoneczne, suche zbocza oraz widne zarośla. Chrząszcze spotyka się od kwietnia do lipca na młodych dębach, leszczynach oraz na kwitnących czeremchach, głogach i tarninach.
