Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1980:

Gatunek rozpowszechniony w prawie całej Europie z wyjątkiem skrajnych części północnych Fennoskandii i południowych części Półwyspu Bałkańskiego, wykazany także z Kaukazu i Syberii. W Polsce dość rzadko spotykany, znany ze stosunkowo nielicznych stanowisk. Występuje zarówno na niżu, jak i w górach, gdzie dociera do strefy subalpejskiej. Gatunek ubikwistyczny, spotykany często w pobliżu osiedli ludzkich. Znajdowany pod rozkładającymi się materiałami organicznymi, w pryzmach kompostowych i nawozie, w piwnicach w gnijących ziemniakach; w lasach pod grzybami, opadłym listowiem, w murszejących, wilgotnych pniach i pniakach, przy wyciekającym soku z drzew; w jaskiniach w odchodach nietoperzy, a w zimie w podziemnych gniazdach gryzoni i kretów.
