Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1997:
Gatunek występujący w Europie od Wysp Brytyjskich i południowych obszarów Fennoskandii po kraje śródziemnomorskie oraz zachodnią część Afryki Północnej. W Polsce rozprzestrzeniony na całym obszarze z wyjątkiem wyższych partii górskich; nie notowany jeszcze tylko z Podlasia i Tatr. Spotykany na suchych i nasłonecznionych miejscach — łąkach, pastwiskach, ugorach, miedzach, w kamieniołomach i winnicach. Żyje wyłącznie na babce lancetowatej — Plantago lanceolata L. Samica w maju-czerwcu składa jaja w rdzeń górnej części łodygi. Larwy drążą chodniki ku dołowi i docierając do nasady liścia, wygryzają komorę żerowiskową; w lipcu przepoczwarczają się w glebie.
