Taxon description
Pospolity w całej Europie, poza tym prawie kosmopolityczny.
Gatunek jednodomny, u nas holocykliczny, Żyje na młodych pędach mleczów — Sonchus oleraceus L., Sonchus asper (L.) Hill., Sonchus arvensis L., rzadziej i tylko wyjątkowo na innych złożonych — Picris hieracioides L. Notowany jako wektor chorób wirusowych.
