Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1991:
Gatunek zasiedlający Europę po południową Skandynawię oraz Afrykę Północną, Syberię, Chiny i Amerykę Północną. W Polsce notowany z nielicznych, przeważnie pojedynczych stanowisk w ośmiu tylko krainach. Prawdopodobnie występuje na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich. Żyje na wiązach; niekiedy występuje masowo i wtedy jest groźnym szkodnikiem, zwłaszcza dla pojedynczo rosnących drzew.
