Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Motyl dość rzadki, znany z wielu okolic kraju. Spotykany w środowiskach otwartych o charakterze stepowym i górskim. Lata w VI i VII. Gąsienice żerują od IX do V z przerwą na sen zimowy na wielu roślinach zielnych i krzewach. Ubarwienie młodych gąsienic jest jaskrawozielone z białożółtymi pasami na bokach. Gąsienice starsze i dorosłe są barwy ciemnoszarozielonej z czarnymi plamkami wzdłuż ciała. W czasie linienia gąsienice są jaśniej ubarwione, po linieniu bardzo ciemne i wtedy czarne plamki są mało widoczne. Przed przepoczwarczeniem gąsienice budują oprzędy na ziemi.
