Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1992:
Gatunek zamieszkujący południową, środkową i wschodnią część Europy, Azję Środkową i Afrykę Północną. Rozwiertek mniejszy zamieszkuje w Polsce głównie obszary nizinne i podgórza, ale notowany z nielicznych, rozproszonych stanowisk. Opada strzały głównie dębów, rzadziej buków, klonów i wiązów. Żerowisko typu rozwidlonego, przebiega poziomo, całkowicie w drewnie. Pod koniec żerowania larwy — ściany chodników sczerniałe.
